I know it has been a while since I have been around these parts. We’ve had such a crazy year that I haven’t have time to breath, let alone write! But I have a few things in the works right now for 2024 so stay tuned! Reviews, tips and travel opportunities galore!
Hola Beaches Travel (HBT) and I, Zahi have accomplished so much this year that I wanted to share some highlights of the past year!
Met Our Goals for 22 and 23 Early On
Fresh out of the 2022 travel frenzy and with a massive change under our belts we set our goals for 2023 and met them very early on. Back in August of 2022, we decided to part ways with our previous host agency and join another one. With that change came a new excitement and an opportunity to grow. And grow we did!
One of my goals for 2023 was to visit and do a FAM in the Dominican Republic. In February I did just that. It was an amazing opportunity to learn and got to experience 2 amazing properties, Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana and Nickelodeon Punta Cana. The best part was meeting new agents and more professionals in the industry. This is HUGE for us to service you better, the connections we make others is invaluable!
We Did a Few Things!
We had traveled to Coastal Georgia back in April 2022. It was then we decided to let our youngest, Abriel graduate HS and we would start building our new home in GA early 2023. Well, in March, we flew from Connecticut to Georgia and started the building process. This was a big deal since HBT travel had grown to the point that Steve and I decided once we moved, I would be able to go full steam ahead and work HBT full time.
At some point I had also wanted to share one of our favorite places with my mom. So, to Mexico we went. I had to bring her to Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya (VIM). It was her first time at an all-inclusive and she had only stopped in Mexico as a stop on a cruise. It was great week just her and I. We happen to be there to celebrate Mexico’s Mother’s Day and it was perfect! She is hooked now!
While in Mexico, of course, I took one day to tour some properties. I went on a one-day mini fam (lol). I toured 8 Karisma properties and they were spectacular! I got to tour the brand new Margaritaville Island Reserve adults only and I cannot wait to go back! It was in the final stages but, what a beautiful resort. If you follow my socials you got a peek at all the properties.
Between end of May and end of July everything is a blur. From Senior prom to graduation, listing and selling a house, finishing up and closing on our new one it feels like I blinked, and I was in this new house. All the while I had a wedding group heading to Costa Rica! To say that that the Summer was a rollercoaster is an understatement. As we continue to work and set up in our new community, I got to cross a big item of my 2023 goal’s list. Late August, I decided to take the plunge and become a Camden County Chamber of Commerce member! I am so excited to work with this community that has welcomed us with open arms!
Move, Travel, & More Travel
Of course, because one big milestone, a interstate move wasn’t enough, we had another milestone to celebrate! Our youngest and my baby (shh don’t tell him I said that) turned 18! So in true HBT fashion, we decided to celebrate him at his very first adults only all-inclusive resort. I took this opportunity to check out a new to me brand of resort and got us to get away from all the moving craziness. I will be posting my full review in the next couple of weeks. So keep an eye out!
The following month I had booked myself for my host agency’s Kickstart (or bootcamp). To say that it was mind-blowing and lifechanging is an understatement. The amount I learned during that week about how to run our business, how to run HBT more efficiently, and again, the connections made with other businessowners and agents. Got to see an old friend and met a bunch of new ones! This event lit a fire under me that I cannot even begin to explain, but it is all to make sure our clients receive first class services!
Also, in October we decided on some domestic travel. We drove to Helen GA. It is the most amazing little town that is modeled after a Bavarian town. German restaurants galore with their beer gardens and lots of smaller shops. It was a great way to celebrate Oktoberfest, it was also the closest we were going to get to Germany this year! 😂
November brought a new to us cruise line. We decided to finally give Virgin Voyages a try. We sailed on a very short 4-night cruise and all I have to say is, I cannot wait for you to read my review! FULL REVIEW coming soon! Some of you got to check out my live room tour! If not, check out our Facebook Page and you can watch the recording. It is a Q&A with a small tour!
All in all, 2023 was an amazingly chaotic, challenging, most wonderful year! I grew as a business owner and travel agent and Hola Beaches Travel grew as an agency. I want to thank every single one of clients that entrusted us and continue to do so with your travels. To everyone who has supported us in any way, YOU ARE THE BEST!
Cheers to the New Year!
